These associations allow us to not only grow our knowledge in the respective specialist fields, but also stay up-to-date with the latest developments in each of these fields. By having professional associations, we are also bound to work within the code of conduct for each of the associations too.
The Institute of Directors (IoD) sets standards for leadership skills across the world. The IoD is a professional body which is incorporated with a Royal Charter, making it among the elite in the professional body world. Our founder, Mr John Nollett, was invited to become a fellow of the Institute of Directors in 2012. The IoD runs a range of courses which allow Directors to improve their skill set, to a level where you can become a Chartered Director.
The Chartered Management Institute sets standards for essential management skills. The CMI is an accredited professional institution for management, which is incorporated with a Royal Charter and is based in the UK. The research that the CMI perform allows us to stay up-to-date with how the management world is developing. The CMI run a variety of courses which allow managers to develop themselves, potentially to Chartered status.
The Institute of Export (IoE) is a professional body that supports and represents everyone involved in international trade, whether is be importing or exporting. Although there is no Chartered status at the IoE, there are qualifications that range from a Certificate in International Trade to a MSc in International Trade Strategy and Operations.
The Institute of Consulting (IoC) is an association that sets a code of practice for consultants to work to. Its close association with the CMI allows members to participate in a variety of courses, which could ultimately lead to a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) award. The IoC is the only organisation in the UK that is accredited by the International Council for Management Consultancy, allowing it to award CMC status.
